Hey there Steven, Manuel works at Audi Ingolstadt and he walked your complaint over to the customer service. While the english might not be the best, he's great and he is working hard to make sure that the forum is filled with satisfied customers.
Albert
Hello Mr Steven N!
Sorry for answering late. I just want to let you know that I've given
your eMail to an employee of our customer's service, Mrs Doris Paul. I
read your eMail and I could freak out because of this dealer's way to
treat customers. I know my desperate doesn't help you, but I'm very
sorry for this treatment. And I hope you will keep at Audi also for the
future. Those dealers aren't worth to wear the Audi-sign! In all
honesty, I've also heart from some other customers about problems with
the dealer's bad treatment. I would change the dealer immediately in
your situation, because he's not worth to get money from you. This is my
opinion as a human, not my opinion as an empoyee at AUDI AG.
Audi of America's first aim is to find and to satisfy customers. It's
the biggest aim of all of us at AUDI AG. Tell them about the occurances
with your dealer, don't hesitate contacting them! They know how to react
to the dealer best.
You will read me soon again, because I expect an answer of Audi's head
customer service. I'll tell you what they would suggest you, okay?
Furthermore, if AoA doesn't answer to your complaint, tell me. I'll hand
this to our marketing and let them decide what to do with the dealer...
I'll keep you informed!
Regards from Ingolstadt!
Manuel Hoffmann

It's nice to know somebody is listening. I need to point out, however, that it was one individual mechanic who engraved a profanity on my oil filter. The rest of the people at the dealership, including the owner and service department manager, have always treated my respectfully and professionally.
While the mechanic should be penalized for what he did, I don't think the rest of the dealership should be given a bad grade.
At this point, my only concern is that the mechanic may have sabotaged my car in some way that my not show up for another six months or so ... long after my warranty has expired.
Thanks again for your support.
StevenN '96 2.8 qm emerald green mica
