View Full Version : Tiptronic conversion anyone? Jason M 03-06-1999, 09:59 AM Has anyone had the AMS tiptronic conversion installed onto there regualer automatic A4?
Thanks for info. Cameron 03-06-1999, 11:00 AM AMS sells its Tiptronic conversion kit for $1000. But, if you're interested, I'll send you one for less.
Chicago A4 Club members have seen my Tip setup, which is a little different (my AMS kit came with a black European-issue Tip gate instead of the chrome one, so I installed an A4 shift boot). Also, I installed an aluminum custom piece to disable the usual "automatic" four, three, and two settings because I figured "I'll use Tiptronic for choosing gears." I've never regretted setting it up like this, but I can take out the aluminum piece if you'd prefer. I have an onyx interior, and the black auto knob with the shift boot really makes the interior look sporty (okay, so other things add to the sportiness too).
The kit works on 1996 and 1997 A4's, either 1.8T or 2.8 engines.
If you're interested, respond via email.
Cameron |
