Rob O 11-04-1998, 02:56 PM Is that what you were looking for?
Rob o SteveL 11-04-1998, 03:02 PM
nt Rob O 11-04-1998, 03:08 PM You must be looking for a pic of the mid-year changes mentioned in the infamous AoA-to-dealer memo of upcoming revisions.
Sorry for the WOB,
Rob O Tomasz 11-04-1998, 03:22 PM Just guessing though. But the changes match the memo.
Tomasz vic 11-04-1998, 04:34 PM I took the picture directly from the magazine at an angle of about 30 degree to avoid the reflection of the flash and it turned out looking a lot more rakish. What I'll do is try to talk the picture again without the flash and post it later.
The size of the magazine also prohibit me from scanning it by my scanner. Rob O 11-04-1998, 05:42 PM I don't believe the memo is meant to indicate they are going to release a '99.5 with fairly significant changes. It appears they are simply saying production of what will be the 2000 A4 is going to start at the beginning of calendar '99 (rather than Aug/Sep, as is traditionally done). It is legal to introduce a vehicle as next year's model after Jan. 1 of the current calendar year (Ford did this with the current F-150, which was released in Summer of '96 as a '97 and sold along side remaining - read: old - '96s).
The memo sounds like they are going to stock up inventory for US dealers to accomodate the production gap between '99s (Nov-Jan) and 2000's, which could certainly be introduced earlier than the usually Fall schedule.
Rob O |
