Just bought my 1st Audi last night. Cactus Mica Green 2.8 Quattro Avant w Sport Package and leather. It can now keep my Boxster company. Been thinking about it since last summer and finally did it. Great automobile! Anyway are there any words of wisdom and/or basic tips I should know about, good and not so good? Would appreciate any insights. I am a Boxster Boarder and now have real reason to log on here as well. Thanks in advance. Gary Temple

or else are going to look the same. My Laser Red 2.8 Avant with sport package, leather, sport seats, Bose, all weather and NO SUNROOF is on order. Who needs a sunroof when your 12 seconds away from the sky.
I've had my Boxster since 4/97; fun car, but I prefer quattros as daily drivers; they are a lot of fun in ALL weather conditions. Before you know it, you'll be doing things in your quattro (in the wet) that would curl your hair (assuming it's straight) in the Boxster. Have fun and best wishes, Geza

Great choice! Only advice is don't slam cargo lid -- just use firm pressure -- and keep washer resevoir full because rear window gets dirty quick, as on any fastback.

...to keep the Boxster company, too? The sport pack is great call (except watch out for those parking curbs -- see my earlier post) and really gives the wagon an aggressive, businesslike profile.
I've put 15,000 miles in less than nine months on my 98.5 Avant qMS and love it still. Remember to keep the revs low for the first 1,000 mile; the engine *really* loosens up after about 3,000 miles. After that, watch your speed. I've already managed to rack up my first ticket in 10 years; You'll find yourself clipping along faster than you think in the A4.
Good luck!

Apparently, there is something in the lines going to the rear window washer that leaves some bad white deposits on window for awhile; after a couple of uses, this is flushed out. Might want to operate rar washer for 15 secs or so continuously to flush it out when first washing car.
Oh, yeah; get ready to clean the wheels DAILY to get rid of brake dust (if you like a spotless car).
(Considering you got the Sport package, hope you got the Sport tranny also - the one that comes with 3 pedals on the floor!)
