I bought my 1.8tqms (just after purchasing a 98 2.8qts) about 2 months ago, and love it! However, for the last several weeks i have been having trouble with a sticky clutch. By sticky clutch i mean that from time to time the clutch's travel distance to the floor decreases, thus leaving the clutch partially engaged (at least enough for cruise control not to function). A few times the clutch sticks to the floor and I can't get into any gears.
the only resolution I have found is either to turn the car off or to manually pull the clutch pedal out and then turn the cruise control on, then off, and the clutch seems to revert back to it's standard disengaged position.
Before I take the car into the dealer, any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Chris

Hey Chris,
It might be your master cylinder. I have a 97 1.8t and had to have it replaced about three months ago. One day my clutch stuck to the floor and would not pop back up. The clutch seemed to have lost all pressure. I had to have my car towed to the dealership.
