Can anyone reccomend a bulb replacement in order to see better at night with the low beams. This is the only complaint I have with this car. I am only interested in changing the light bulb, not the headlight assembly.

View Full Version : 1998 A4 Low Beams Craig 10-30-1998, 09:52 AM Can anyone reccomend a bulb replacement in order to see better at night with the low beams. This is the only complaint I have with this car. I am only interested in changing the light bulb, not the headlight assembly. John Costin 10-30-1998, 10:39 AM As I've posted before, the problem is not the bulb so much as it is the lens itself. Changing the bulb will only make it appear brighter when you look at it directly (assuming that's possible), but the light dispersion itself will remain the same. In a nutshell, a waste of money, unless one were to change over to the E-code lamps. Terry 10-30-1998, 11:26 AM John C. may be right that a change in bulb might not significally affect the "brightness." But I do believe, from what I heard, that the PIAA SuperWhite bulb will make a significant difference. <p>The only problem is that the PIAA SuperWhite bulb is currently only made in the H4 configuration. But I heard from several people that they plan to sell the H7 bulb in Jan. I'd wait till Jan. and read the review on that bulb. |
