Is it just me, or do the clear taillights look so cheesy and cheap that they really belong on a Revell model?

View Full Version : Clear taillights: Anyone else think they look like... mywheels 10-30-1998, 07:46 AM Is it just me, or do the clear taillights look so cheesy and cheap that they really belong on a Revell model? C HRISTIAN 10-30-1998, 08:02 AM I have seen them pop up down here in Florida lately on modified Accords and Civics. And I just don't like them all that much, mabye on a pearl A4...but I still don't think it's my type of mod. I'm still trying to decide if smoked taillights will look good on a casablanca white A4. I know the smoked lenses look good on silver and darker A4s, but not sure about white. Does anyone have a pic of their smoked taillights on a white A4?
Christian CraigB 10-30-1998, 08:13 AM I'd like to see them on white, silver and pearl, before I pass a final judgement. I have pearl, but don't carre to be a guinea pig. 8^)
From a functional standpoint: The ones I saw on an Accord, the brake lights weren't very bright during the day. May come down to more of a safety thing.
CraigB tomt 10-30-1998, 08:45 AM CL 10-30-1998, 08:57 AM I posted yesterday regarding clear taillights on a silver A4 and asked how they looked.
Someone posted pictures and they seemed to show a lot of the red bulbs underneath.
Does anyone have a picture of the full car with clear taillights on a silver a4?
How about smoked? Also, where do you get them, how much and are they easy to install?
THANKS!! Hence, the red bulbs show.
ChuckH 10-30-1998, 01:18 PM The clear plastic allows one to see too much of what is going on inside the light and everything. All the seems, different patterns internally, and whatever are visible. Looks crappy, IMO. The front ones are OK, but the rears are too large and have too many different patterns in them. I do liked the smoked lights on the dark cars though.
Charles
|
