1. Is it a true plug-and-play swap?
2. I know the fog lights aren't included: does it matter that they're gone?
3. Can the existing fog light console swith be used to activate aftermarket fog/driving lights (PIAA, CATZ etc...)
4. True or false: both Valeo and Bosch make Euro light replacements.
5. Any suggestions as to which of the 2 above brands are better?
Impressions, answers, comments welcome! TIA.

I've been investigating Euro lights as a cheaper than Xenon way to upgrade my lights so I haven't installed Euros. Owners please correct my misinformation.
1. Is it a true plug-and-play swap?
Yes, unless you want to hook up the City Lights which are part of Euro headlamp assemblies.
2. I know the fog lights aren't included: does it matter that they're gone?
Bosch has the same H1/H7 setup as the US Spec lights so they do have the integrated fogs. Valeo is an H4 (Dual Fillament) setup and does not have integrated fogs.
3. Can the existing fog light console swith be used to activate aftermarket fog/driving lights (PIAA, CATZ etc...)
Yes. You need to tap into the existing wiring.
4. True or false: both Valeo and Bosch make Euro light replacements.
True. LL Tek has the Valeo. Autobahn and others have the Bosch. Differences are touched on in 2. above. LL Tek also has an aftermarket Fog Light system which installs into the bumper. Another 350, but looks quite similar to the setup in the 99.5s.
5. Any suggestions as to which of the 2 above brands are better?
Both should be good. Bosch has the fogs included. The H4 lamps in the Valeo are easier to find higher wattages for. Both should yield some improvement over stock.
I think I'm going to flip a coin. HTH.
Pulled from the FAQ on Stern's Lighting web site:
"E-code lamps sometimes include a City light.(These are called "side lights" by speakers of British English. This can be a bit confusing, because they face *front*, not to the side.) What is a city light? It's a 5-watt lamp that sticks through the lamp's reflector into the lamp itself. European vehicles are equipped with city lights rather than US-style amber parking lamps. City lights are legal for use as parking lamps in the US and in Canada; amber parking lamps are NOT mandatory."
If all goes well, I should have a set of Bosch Euro's to sell in about a week. If anyone is interested, let me know. I also have a set of H7 PIAA superwhites to go with it..
Sorry, I guess this should be posted in the classifieds, but I couldn't resist this, since you are looking into it..
Jason
