I've read this forum a lot, and without it, I probably would never have bought my beautiful A4. (check going out in the mail to Jason soon!) Anyway, I thought I knew all the differences between the 98 and 99 models, but I keep finding more all the time! <p>Like:<br>99's have drycleaning hooks! I didn't think that any of the A4's did.<p>99's cupholders are "redesigned" and still totally useless.<p>I had another one, but I can't remember it right now. I also never noticed that all seats, including the drivers, have an "OH SH!T" handle. I don't know if the pre-99's had that, but interesting. <p>Thanks to everyone on the forum for all your questions and answers.. without you all, I would have 32 thousand more dollars, but surely I wouldn't be as happy!<p>Ben.

My 98.5 has the aforementioned oh sh*t handle over each door. Just like an SUV.<p>Good name for them!<br>

the only thing I can figure is that they use the same roof for left and right drive. Otherwise, absolutely no reason to have a handle on the driver side! I guess you could string a laundry line between the two when not driving, but I doubt that was the intent...

I have seen so many features listed -- like heated outside mirrors that turn on with the defroster -- that are on my 1996 A4. Did Audi remove some of these options in later models? If so, I'll keep my '96!<p>StevenN '96 2.8qm
