The Audis look better( IMO) . I used to love bimmers but they don't exite me anymore. Maybe when the new M5s come out that will change, But it won't have quattro, Later for that!!<p>

I like the outside of the new 3 series as much or more than my 98 A4 2.8. I still think the A4 2.8 has a much nicer interior. I havn't driven the 3 series so I can't comment on that. I think the old 328s looked cheap both inside and out. The new model looks more refined but still looks sporty. <p>Mark (98.5 2.8 QMS)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so there's no definitive answer to your brief and unsupported assessment. <p>I will, however, say that the lines of the A4 in particular, and the Audi line in general, are at least as sculptural as anything BMW has put out, if not more so. If cars can speak of personality, the BMW look is amoral, cold and efficient. The Audi is more sensuous and refined, its lines and proportions more thought out and pleasing to the eye than the bimmer. The current A4 design is nearly four years old, and still holds its own against the "baby 5" 3 series. (I also think the 5 series is gorgeous.)<p>Of course, none of this pertains to skidpads and acceleration times.

Not every car Audi has ever made looks as good as the A4. BTW, wouldn't you agree that certain VW's are beginning to look like Audis? Lastly, although I like the look of the A4, it isn't a work of art and there are many people who aren't as enthralled by it as the owners are. Of course you guys like the look, I would hope that you wouldn't buy a car you thought was ugly. Less than 2000 M5's were imported to the U.S. from 91-93 but I don't think that automatically makes my car cool. I like it because of its power and handling (except in the snow of course :-)). You should like your A4's because of what they do not based on the number of people that drive them.

I have never seen a company that produced so many great looking factory rims as BMW. The new 5 series rim is outstanding. <p>It's because it's a rear wheel drive though, they can use deeper rims. IMHO there is no more beautiful car than a Maranello, but BMWs look cool too.<br>

Auto Motor und Sport surveyed 120,000 readers and something like 39% preferred the 3-series and only 10% liked the A4. More people liked the Passat at 16% than A4. In Germany I saw much more A3s than A4s, but still more BMWs 5s and 3s.

Don't hate us because we're beautiful. Now go out and play in your A4s (but don't get ED)

There is no other factory that makes as nice a wheel as BMW. I'd take their forged wheels any day!

One of the many reasons why I chose an Audi A4 was its "now-temporary" exclusivity. BMWs are not bland, they are very nice too. I live in California, and there are tons of BMWs here.
