I want to replace my gray cloth seats (which I hate) with leather (or some other material). Basically looking for something compfotable in the black or charcoal ballpark. Got a quote for doing all interior in leather for $1200. I want to do it myself if I can. Has anyone ever done it and if so how did it turn out? where did you get the materials?

......remember they have side impact air bags...if they go off they'll split your leather seats!
Just a friendly heads-up!
-LTH

I've used CST before to do a Acura Integra GS-R and they did excellent work. If you've already bought your car, their price is prob. bout what you already quoted. If you haven't, they usually sell thru dealers cheaper. I've ordered a 99.5 1.8tqms w/sport seats & intend to use CST again. I've already contacted them and they have the 'patterns' for the sport and non-sport seats. They also know how to work around the side impact air bag so they'll still work if you have them. They also do the door panels w/leather as well. I believe they've 46 diff. colors of leather. I personally think your nuts trying to do it yourself, buy heck, maybe you've experience I don't know about. Anyway, hope this helps, and good luck: link below.

One of my friends bought a 3 series with cloth and wanted leather. She found a shop in our area that recovered the cloth with leather for less than she could have gotten leather in her car as an option. I thought the covering job was nicer than the standard BMW leather. It's worth a try.
