After waxing my car (aluminum silver) I can see that in the two sprinklers on the hood and some areas on the sunroof frame, the black color has faded. It is not so obvious but it bothers me because it was my fault. <br>I remember that in the past someone suggested a product for revitalizing black surfaces but I cannot locate it in the archives. Mine looked the same way, the plastic has a rough finish to it and it collects wax (rubber has a tendency to do the same thing). I use an old toothbrush to brush the wax off these parts, which has restored the black.

Like Dave said, it's probably just wax. Try a toothbrush or I use a small dab of Bug & Tar remover on a cloth and carefully rub the plastic part in question, being careful to not hit the paint (don't want to strip the wax). This has worked for me in the past. I'm not sure if the Bug & Tar remover is harmful to plastic/rubber, but I've never had any problems with this method on previous cars.<p>You may have been thinking about a product named "Black Again". Here's the write-up from the Car care Specialties website (URL listed below)<p>"A white creamy polymer emulsion that cleans, renews and protects all color exterior trim and vinyl tops. Removes oxidation and wax residue. Use on vinyl, plastic, black metal or flat black areas. Restores exterior trim to brilliant black. Try using on tires for a deep black finish.
