Presently, my car is bone stock, non sport package. I was thinking of tightening up the handling by going to an Eibach/Bilstein setup. But, some of the tuners now say that the variable rate springs aren't the way to go, and suggested I consider linear rate springs such as H and R.
Any input on this?
Variable rates are the way to go for the BEST combo of performance, comfort and appearance. You should drive a car set up with the Nuespeed sport springs... Wow!
Good luck!
If your car is a commuter car and comfort is of concern, then variable rate is the best choice. I used to have coil-overs on my old Eclipse and the springs I used were linear rated. Great for the track, but horrible over rough roads.

Variable rate is best for driving on the street. Linear rate will either be too harsh, or it will allow your car to bottom out too easily. Save them for the track! :-)
Charles
