I am going to ask a dealer about the following but I wanted to get some help/advise from this forum first as there are many people who have a lot of knowledge and various experiences with their exhaust systems.
I wanted to know what to do if I removed my catalytic converter on my 1997 A4 1.8T Quattro with a manual transmission. I am in a country that has only leaded fuel and I know that I will have to remove the cat. How can I shut off or disconnect the 2 sensors(OBD sensors) around the cat? Has anyone done anything like this before? I will be very gratefull for any help I can get.
thanks,
Gilbert

Gilbert, I think one problem will be the oxygen sensors that are part of the feedback fuel injection system (I don't know if this is what you mean be OBD sensors). AS far as I know, they are an iintegral part of the way the fuel injection system operates to adjust mixture rich or lean under various conditions.
if you are in a country that has only leaded fuel, what does the dealer do? How are the cars modified from an unleaded/cat configuration to a non-cat system? This is probably a factory setup, and probably hard to do at a dealer or by your self. I think you might need some expensive changes like a swapout of the fuel injection brain.
