I will picking up my new A4 this afternoon after a 3 month wait. Not to bad, but still long enough. So this is what I ordered, lets see if its what I actually get...
99QM 2.8 Volcano Black
Sunroof
Bose
Cold Weather
Trip Comp
Sports Steering Wheel
Told dealer no bumper drill, no buffing of paint.
Ordered From McGrath Acura/Audi in Glenview Il. So far, great service, so they get a plug.
Thanks to all for keeping my sanity while I waited.

...I went to order an A4 (manual) and unfortunately, all he could offer me was $500 under MSRP (even after telling him I was referred by you). No ifs ands or buts. I thanked him and walked out. Kinda pissed me off. Anyway, The Exchange has a car in Houston right now. If I snag it, I could have it by the end of the week! It's missing the Bose System I wanted, but I figure that's pretty easy to get on my own.

Looks like, once again, mixed reviews of McGrath. I can't comprehend how they can vary so in their treatment of people and acceptance of offers. $500 below MSRP is ridiculous, I hope you told them you were going to The Exchange.
Anyway, good luck intercepting the car from Houston!
Becker...

I was amused and pissed all at once. After translation, the jerk basically told me that he could easily make maximum profit on the car (MSRP). I reminded him that even though my offer wasn't MSRP, he was still making a profit. He kept telling me he just "CAN'T" sell it to me for less than $500 under MSRP. I thanked him and left. Kinda shocked me that a salesman would just let a buyer walk out like that.

Sorry to here that. I guess supply and demand takes over at some point. That is a little disapointing. I guess I put to much faith in them. Once a car salesman, always a car salesman. Maybe he didnt consider you a serious buyer. I can ask him about it. I certainly dont want to send business to a place that wont treat their customers right. Although, I bet he would be pissed, if he found out that I was telling people they would sell cars for 3.5% over invoice.

...I didn't expect him to sell it to me for 3.5% over invoice, however, he didn't even attempt to negotiate. He knew I was serious, and I let him know I was coming out to put a deposit down for the car when we spoke on the phone. I would appreciate it if you didn't mention it to him, as he seemed rather annoyed about your referral. Thanks for helping out, though.
Marianthi

He said he only has one allocation of the 1.8 Q Manual and thats the best he could do for you. I still stand by that dealership, I think they are willing to take care of you if they have the cars in stock.
