Next week, I'm moving from Chicago to White Plains, NY -- and I'm ready to buy an A4. I'm willing to buy anywhere in the NY/NJ/CT region. Anyone have any advice about dealers in this area? Who has the best supply of A4s? Who might give me a good deal?
I think I'm going to buy a 2.8 Quattro, but having seen all of the interesting things A4 owners are doing with the turbo 4-cylinder, I might reconsider.

Pray Audi in Greenwich, CT is one of the authorized repair shops for the aluminumn-clad A8, and it is high volume. Hoffman Audi in East Hartford is where I bought my 98 1.8TQM Sport, and Steve Ferenc, a salesman there, is a true car guy and a fine human being. All the service visits have been pleasurable. The car is just as tight and beautiful as when I drove it off the lot 25k miles ago.
You can also try Bay Ridge Audi/VW in Brooklyn, NYC. Decent selection last time I was home, and they are willing to try and beat prices.

i've tried all the dealers in the white plains, nyc, and upstate areas. the best deal i got was at storms motors in southhampton ny(long island). don wald did a great job of getting me exactly what i wanted and was the best deal around. pray audi of greenwich is the biggest audi dealership in the us but they are also one of the most expensive. eastchester Classic motors is a great place to get service but they have a very small inventory, they will work to order a car for you though. good luck e-mail me if you have any more questions.
I was very happy with my buying experience at Star Motors in Nanuet, about 15 minutes from White Plains over the TZ bridge.
Their customer service bites. The play off the fact that they are the only Audi dealer within 60 miles. The sales manager even called me back and harassed me about giving them a bad review! WTF!!! They are not very perceptive to people like us on this board. Meaning?? If you just buy the car from them and leave them alone, good... but if you ask too many questions,.. forget it. So, if you just want to buy your Audi and use it as an appliance (you know, take it in for service when needed, drive it , trade it in when the warranty runs out, etc.), you can buy from them - your experience maybe good. I had a hell of a time dealing with them... a few others I had talked with didn't like their customer service neither. I don't know... maybe you have to look old enough (college grads, like myself and a couple of others, will have a tougher time getting their attention), wearing shirt and tie, and have a good watch and ring. Isolated incident?
Just my 2 cents...
Cris
