In November I ordered a 1.8 TQMS, and after 3 months, I'm starting to get a little anxious about the reluctance of my dealer to give me any info. I'd like to get confirmation that the car is actually going to be built to my specifications. This isn't an unreasonable request, is it? The dealer receives confirmation of the color, options, etc. from the factory, right? Despite my requests, the dealer has never given me any specifics about my order. E.g., order number, status. I'm starting to envision a bad news scenario. Maybe he ordered a car with different options so that he'd have an excuse to sell it to someone else for more money than I agreed to. (He gave me a really good price, so it's likely he could get a better price from someone else.)<p>Whad'ya think? Is it just my paranoia?

We ordered an A4 1.8 Quattro, w/all weather package, NO SUNROOF, Casablanca White w/opal grey leatherette one day after Thanksgiving. Our dealer was going to change one of his incoming cars on order to our specifications. He informed us in early January that our car was production week 8, i.e. the fourth week of February with 4-8 weeks after that before we take delivery. The reason for the long delay given was that the 8th week of 1999 was the first production week that Audi would produce A4's with NO sunroofs. Subsequently, I've asked if our exterior color/interior color combinations are still accurate for the U.S. as what is posted in the A4 bulletin indicates that it is NOT. The dealers factory rep responded back that our order was NOT effected and that you can't believe everything on the web, i.e. what was indicated on the A4 Forum may only be accurate for Europe for certain item.

They should give you the order request # and the vin # after <br>the car has been built. If they won't provide this information, <br>call Audi of America. Another dealer might check out the order <br>request # to make sure the car is to your specifications.

My car has<br>been in status 'D' (in production) since January, 27<br>Would Audi assign status 'D' even if they do not plan to build cars without<br>a sunroof until the end of February ?<p>My dealer even said that the car is on schedule for a February delivery!!!!<p>Somehow I doubt and I hope to get the car in mid/late March.<p>Steve.
