I am in the process of ordering a 99.5 A4 and need to select the options.<p>The press releases on various Audi sites talk about an optional "SIDEGUARD" head-level side impact airbag for the newly updated A4.<p>My local dealer, however, insists that there is no such thing.<p>What's the scoop?<br>

As I said -- the web sites (including the one you referenced above) claim that the feature exists. But my dealer says it doesn't.<p>Anybody know if this feature is available in the U.S.?

<br>It is not an option in the US yet. Read the memo in forum on 99.5 changes. Also AudiUSA (800-FOR-AUDI) released the official info on 99.5's in US a couple of days ago. It's official now. No room for arguements. IF you want me to fax a copy of the 99.5 A4's additionals; let me know. But again; someone posted them here a couple days ago. All dealers should have copies of the memo.
