At a minimum, you would have to buy a complete new instrument cluster (speedometer, tach.... the works). (Whenever something goes wrong with any part of this cluster, even warning chimes not working right, the whole thing gets replaced). Plus, you would need a new control stalk for the right side of the steering wheel that has an on/off swich and function cyling switch for the trip computer. This assumes that all of the cars have all the necessary sensors/electronics, plus wiring, to provide input to the computer, which is probably correct. I'm guessing big bucks. Eventually, you might get the necessary parts out of a totaled car (and even that wouldn't be cheap).<p>Another remote possiblity - find someone on the forum that wants to get rid of their trip computer for some reason and trade parts. There is a complication here, however - the odometer is part of the instrument cluster, and it probably isn't easy to remove and trade out (possibly "tamper proof"). You'd also want to make sure you found someone with the same year & model as yours due to differences in the 99 models as well as possible electronic differences between modules intended for cars with different engines/gearing. (Only speculating here - they might all be the same part).
