I've checked the archives and haven't found any response to how to remove the lower portion of the B-Pillar interior trim. I want to route speaker cabling to the rear door of the Avant. Please let me know if anyone has done this without destroying anything.
Thanks much!

Check the FAQ under the "Interior" catagory. Under that, find the article labeled "Harness". This lists the instructions for removal of the lower B-Pillar trim for the installation of a racing harness but it will fulfill your needs as well.
Enzo

The FAQ only describe how to remove the trim that runs the length of the front and rear door sills. I finally figured out how to remove the B pillar trim. You must yank the top of the B pillar trim off first. The top is held in by metal clips. Don't yank too hard because the sonic alarm emitters are still attached. Flip the top of that trim downward because it is still attached to the lower B pillar trim. Push in the two plastic clips on bottom of the lower B pillar trim and lift the trim piece off. Disconnect the sonic alarm switch on the driver side. Voila! Running the speaker cable into the rear doors is a bit tricky since the path is nearly completely blocked by two large harnesses. But I slipped a 16 gauge cable in between the harness into the door. The rear door speakers can take a 6.5" speaker with pretty good depth. It does have that goofy three point attachment at the 12, 4, and 8 o'clock position. There is plenty of room for a crossover.
