I'm going for a chip in my 99 2.8Q 5spd. I've been told they're all about the same and go for price. Neuspeed is REALLY inexpensive, is this too good to be true? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has this chip installed. Noticable performance increase? How about idling, gas milage. Any information is appreciated. Thanks
Bill S

This is a great question - There sure seems to be a lot of hype on various chips. I had an Autothority chip on my Corrado - very nicely done, but alas, they don't do Audi's. Wetterauer's US and German web sites have quite a bit of useful info( the most comprehensive site I've seen ). I never had any inkling to go back to the stock chip though, so one would hope their dyno charts and technical backup relate to technical competence.

I'd recommend the Garrett chip for your 2.8. I just got one, and the low end torque increase is unreal, and full throttle is very lively now. Can't say I know much about the neuspeed chip, but the one that was in my GTIVR6 sucked, and the Garrett chip I switched to was a marked improvement.

What did it do to your fuel economy? I've read that messing with the low end really hurts mileage.
Also, did you do the upgrade or do you have to send a unit in (ie is the chip socketed)?
thanks - paul
