I'd like to tow a lite-weight (250 lb) motorcycle trailer with 2 dirt bikes on it at about 270 lbs each. I've got a '99 2.8qt coming and wondered if anyone had any experience doing this. TIA :)

I know others have towed with their A4's. I don't know why they aren't replying. I think the towing limit is 2000 lbs for the A4 with trailer brakes, and 1200 without brakes, but I'm not positive. Your manual should have the towing capacity. I used to tow a small boat with my 90Q, and had no trouble. Didn't even know it was back there! I think the hardest part may be finding a hitch for the A4. I had to have one custom built for my 90Q. Good luck!
Charles
I have a 98.5AvantQMS. Been towing a double jet-ski trailer all summer.
No problems, installed a draw-tight hitch & I keep the ball assembly in the
spare tire area. Wired the plug so the phone wiring sullpies the power to the
converter, a very slick set-up.
The quattro makes pulling the boats up the ramp soooo easy. no slip!
I do limit my speed to 70 os so, but the car drives just fine.......enjoy.
mark

For our 98 2.8 I need to have the hitch tube hidden when the ball is removed. Is the Draw tite behind the moulding or does anyone know of a method or product. Consider the M-B 300 sport ute which has a neat knock-out . Ross( Ontario)
