I've been considering options for protecting the front of my future A4 (99.5, 1.8T tip, Sport, Santorin Blue). I'm leaning against a traditional bra and wanted to know other experiences with some of the clear film options. Stoneguard, and Invincashield seem pretty similar. Any long term success stories? At www.autosupermart.com there is a 3M product link that has 12x1 strips for $8.99. A bargain in comparison, but I wonder how difficult to get a good pattern cut? BTW, this site is solely responsible for keep my sane during the wait.

Use a Clear Bra, Pay someone to do it.

Did it myself, it was a deal-a-thon. My results were decent (stongard) but very brainracking. If you decide to do it yourself, you'll need a helper, lots of patience, and a heat gun/hair dryer for difficult compound curves.
With that said, I'll repeat. Pay someone else to do it!
Paul Cormier
'98.5 Silver A4tqms

I've already talked to my local installer about this. They will probably build their 99.5 A4 patterns from my car, should be their first. Don't forget to wait a bit for the soft Audi paint to cure before installation, could have bad long term effects if you don't. More info available at their website, www.stongard.com.
>>>>>Bernie

I didn't do it on my A4, but did replace a clear stone guard on my 993 (about 2 sq. ft surface area of this clear plastic material). Yes, it's a royal pain to install; I feel you need lots of experince in order to get it on evenly and without bubbles. A highly respected local body shop who specializes in high-end imports did NOT want to try installing the Stonguard.
I have heard the difference between the Stoonguard and Invincashields is that the Invincashield front bra is multiple pieces, while the Stonguard is one piece. This makes it easier to install, but you are probably left with being able to see the "slits" where the pieces butt.
By the way, HAVE YOU CHECKED THE ARCHIVES????????????
