How's this interior compares with the Ambition Opal Grey interior? I am asking this because we will be getting another A4 with Volcano Black exterior. Volcano Black only available with Advance Terra Cota, Onyx, Ecru/Onyx and Ambition Opal Grey interior. I felt the Ecru/Onyx is more unique due to the popluarity of Onyx and eccentric of Terra Cota.
Any ideas
TOM
97 A4 1.8TQM (Aluminum silver/Anthracite)
99 A4 1.8TAF (Volcano Black/????)

I have the new interior in my 98.5, I actually waited specifically for this interior as I was not thrilled with the blue carpeting. I have the open poor burled walnut trim and prefer that to the shiny variations that are offered. I found the grey to be a little bit overdone - its just grey everywhere with a slap of shiny wood trim thrown in for good measure. The Ecru Advance with Onyx is a fantastic interior and I'm very glad I waited for exactly what I wanted vs. taking whatever was on the lot.
Regards, Stuart

In my search for my perfect A4, I came across a Volcano Black A4 w/ Ecru/Onyx interior at Rector Audi in Burlingame, CA. The interior is beautiful and contrasts nicely with the exterior. Almost went for it, but Santorin Blue still has a spell over me.
Also saw the Volcano Black with the straight Onyx interior and felt it looked too overwhelmingly gray, and too stark.

I've only seen the Opal Grey interior with the polished walnut trim. Wood is nice (like it better than the open pore walnut in the Onyx interior), but overall the Opal Grey interior seems a little sterile to me.
IMHO, ecru interiors are the most attractive. If I had to chose between the equally conservative Opal Grey and Onyx, I'd go with the Onyx because it seems a bit easier to keep clean and black (dark grey?) goes with everything.
My family decided to go for Advance Ecru/Onyx interior to compliment the Volcano Black exterior.
Tom
97 A4 1.8TQM (Aluminum silver/Anthracite)
