I am taking a trip up to Vermont for skiing this weekend but the weather here in the NorthEast looks like its getting worse. I'm planning to put snow chains on my car (not audi), but I'm not sure if it's ok. I remember reading some talk about it on the board so i just wanted to double check. Using chains on the car with thin/no snow will damage the road, be harsher on your tires, noisy, and increase the chance the chains will break and foul up your car.<p>Oh, they're fine on the highway cause if you need chains you're not going to be driving too fast anyway (i.e. not at highway speeds)<p>HTH
