My remote has failed twice in the past two weeks. Each time it was after a hard frost with temps below 20 degrees F. The first time I took the car and remotes to the dealer. They were resynchronized and at the same time I had them reprogrammed to open all doors and the trunk with one push. Has anyone else had this problem with cold weather? Also, any suggestions to solve the problem would be appreciated. I have tried to resynch the remotes myself per manual to no avail and I have checked the archives.
Thanks in advance,
JohnB

John, my 98.5 Avant gets stored outdoors, and three times since the start of teh year have had ice storms to the extent took me over 15 -20 minutes to scrape the ice off the windows so I could drive (no success till heaters/defrosters started having an effect). Temp has govne down to zero at times. Remotes have never failed me.
My remote failed within 2 weeks of purchase. The remote that my wife has still works. It has been very cold here in Michigan. I haven't had time to try and fix it yet. I think I will try to re-synchronize them first. I'll let you know what happens. I had asked the dealer they said it needs a new battery. I find this very hard to believe since that remote battery in my Grand Cherokee lasted over 3 years.
