The Panasonic DP-601 that I purchased from Autotoys came with an adapter cable yet the factory cable plugs<br>into the unit. What is the purpose of this cable? The changer gets power from the factory cable.<p>Do I have to remove the negative battery cable or can I just leave the keys out of the ignition during install?<p>TIA<br>Vince

The factory CD changer wiring is different than the DP-601 and the adaptor cable is used to transpose the connections in the proper way. I have read on this forum bad experiences of people spoiling their Radios because the power was not disconnected during install.<p>Please search the archives as there is plenty of useful stuff there about the changer install.<p>issac
