PSB, Energy, Paradigm, B&W, NHT, Mission, are just some of the good affordable speakers out there. If you take one apart, a BOSE speaker is really just made up of cheap $5 drivers and a funky spatial circuit. In reality, while some people may like the result, it causes more distortion and has very bad sonic accuracy. You'd be better off with a good set of neutral speakers and a receiver with surround modes. Bose can't handle any power, which is why they always package them with BOSE electronics. Go with a PSB, Pinnacle, NHT, Paradigm, Def Tech, Energy or other sub <$1K system, and you'll be much better off for the same $$$$. Heck, for the money, Cambridge Soundworks is far superior to BOSE. And, just so you know, I made a ton of money in school selling BOSE and other speakers in an Audio specialty store. Some people just wouldn't listen. -Dave "Budget minded HT Snob" '00 A4 1.8TQMS '97 M3 A4ler 02-11-2002, 12:54 PM cavitenio 02-11-2002, 04:26 PM Agree, Take Five is so much better than Bose. If you have a big room, I'd recommend that you get the 10" sub instead of the 8". Buy direct from somewhere in Canada if you want to save some big bucks. I can refer you to a dealer if you want. |
