What is your budget?

PSB, Energy, Paradigm, B&W, NHT, Mission, are just some of the good affordable speakers out there.

BOSE is just marketing, most non-Audiophiles tend to think of them as best and buy them because of a marketing-create rep and some cheap acoustic tricks they play with imaging.

If you take one apart, a BOSE speaker is really just made up of cheap $5 drivers and a funky spatial circuit.

In reality, while some people may like the result, it causes more distortion and has very bad sonic accuracy. You'd be better off with a good set of neutral speakers and a receiver with surround modes. Bose can't handle any power, which is why they always package them with BOSE electronics.

Go with a PSB, Pinnacle, NHT, Paradigm, Def Tech, Energy or other sub <$1K system, and you'll be much better off for the same $$$$. Heck, for the money, Cambridge Soundworks is far superior to BOSE.

And, just so you know, I made a ton of money in school selling BOSE and other speakers in an Audio specialty store. Some people just wouldn't listen.

Agree, Take Five is so much better than Bose. If you have a big room, I'd recommend that you get the 10" sub instead of the 8". Buy direct from somewhere in Canada if you want to save some big bucks. I can refer you to a dealer if you want.
