Looking at the warranty coverage leaflet I got in the mail today...

First the fun stuff:
"2. The following items are not covered:
- used items
-automobiles, trailers, motorboats, airplanes, motorcycles, motorscooters, snowblowers, riding lawnmowers, golf carts, lawn tractors and and other motorized vehicles (except for miniature electrically powered vehicles intended for children) or any of their respective parts or accessories."

Now the question I have a question about:
"4. Claims resulting from the follwing are not covered:
- fraud
-abuse
-hostilities of any kind (including war, invasion, rebellion, insurrection)
- confiscation by autorities; risks of contrband; illegal activities
-normal wear and tear
- flood, earthquake, radioactive contamination
- inherent product defects."

I noticed that regular wear-and-tear was on that list. So suppose if something goes wrong with an appliance I buy with my Mastercard, what can I claim from the Mastercard extended warranty?

The leaflet would be much smaller.

You cannot get a new leather jacket because it gets worn on the elbows, because it is normal for it to get worn. However if the stiching falls out, that is abnormal, and hence covered...

Mastercard, according to the stipulations listed on the leaflet say that they will provide 12 months extended coverage. Well, will they pay for the servicing on my mindisc player?

If the thing didn't play anymore, that is clearly not normal wear and tear...
