This company is creating software to make the iPod compatible with Windows operating system.
The iPod is a 5GB MP3 player the size of a deck of cards and 10+ hours of battery life.

http://www.mediafour.com/products/xpod/

It is everything Apple touted, except I seem to get better battery life than the stated 10 hours. It is a little heavier than I expected, probably due to that lithium-polymer battery. But the weight adds to the overall feeling of sturdiness.
The design and quality of the iPod is light years ahead of my old Rio 500. The FireWire connection is very fast too. I downloaded 3GBs of songs in minutes. It also attracted a lot of attention on my flight last Tuesday.
I wish Apple had made a cover for the FireWire port when not in use though.

Maybe they will have other games in the firmware update. :-)

That is probably because they calculated that using random access tests instead of shuffle or straight play. The songs are normally loaded into the 32MB of cache so the hard drive has nothing to do for a long time. Also the backlight on will bring the time down which is another feature probably less used than say a palm device.
I hear cases and clips and holsters are on the way from third party.
