I may want to go to Denver for an event next month. The problem of course is that I don't know how much I should pay for airfare or which airline to use (Southwest Airlines did not list Denver as one of the destinations). Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Use one of the online services to check for flights - ie thetrip.com
what event - Bronco Game? Avs? Certainly won't be to see the Rockies in the World Series

and their fares are generally cheaper than the other companies. and i believe they have a 20% off coupon at their check-in counter.

Check their website at www.frontierairlines.com, sometimes cheaper than phoning them.
Southwest does not come here, you can take UAL out of LAX, SNA, ONT fairly easily but they will probably be the most expensive option.
Otherwise America West through PHX, Delta through SLC, but direct Frontier or UAL as both have hubs here.

I appreciate all the good info. I know SW does not fly into anywhere in CO. This trip is just an idea right now (just to see a DJ)!

I would wait and see if there are any e-fares. Sign up at ual.com, frontierairlines.com and americawest.com. They will send out email specials on Tuesday at midnight for the upcoming weekend or you can look on their site Wed am. You usually depart Sat and return Mon or Tues. Fares are typically less than $200 LA to Den. My folks have used them a lot to come to Denver from Phoenix. Times are sometimes limited but with many planes running far less than capacity you might be lucky.
