The brake pedal is the one on the left, unless you're driving a manual transmission Audi, then it's the center pedal. Continuously repeat the above sentence to yourself when inside your Audi.

See Issue 1, Vol. I, of Brill's Content (available most book stores) for a critique of the "60 Minutes" segment on "unintended acceleration."

May I respectfully suggest that without the debacle of unintended acceleration that we might not have the A4 today? At the time this happened Audis were somewhat overpriced and not known for their reliablity, issues that had to be addressed if Audi was going to succeed in putting down the 60 minutes spectre. Adversity may be unfortunate, but if it drives us to new heights was it all bad?

instead of boring me to death with a Don Dupree style sales pitch on quattro option,
you do the Hokey Pokey in the showroom for me instead.

...it's not a sales pitch, it's true. Quattro more than pays for itself when you trade the car in (which says more about the depreciation of FWD Audis than about the value of Quattro). And the dealer cost is exactly the same as the MSRP for the Quattro option, so there's no extra profit.
Not that you need that as an excuse to get Quattro. BTW, Unabimmer, are you going to get Quattro on your A4? And what, if any, modifications will you do?
Rich D.
(not in any way affiliated with Audi or any dealership)

I'm thinking of going with the 1.8 because the gas mileage seems more reasonable
and because I had a more positive test drive with it than the '96 A4.....If I'm
gonna get the next gen A4, the TDI may interest me over both 1.8 and 2.8 models?
not sure what mods if any, I would get into other than chip & airfilter panel
I'm not too familiar with Audi aftermarket companies but TAP looked like
they are pretty good?
