Hi, I have a 1999 A4 1.8TQMS I have just installed the Neuspeed P-chip 200 miles ago, the car runs flawlessly. I would like to change to a synthetic lubricant how many miles should I wait, and will the engine have to be flushed? The car has 800 miles on it. Thanks in advance.

I would wait unitl the first service interval. As I understand it from the FAQ, Audi puts in some type of break in oil - I would not swap it out until 1st warranty service. A buddy of mine changed oil in his Corrado after 1000 miles to synthetic, then the rings did not seat properly - and he had to get a new engine. VW gave him alot of grief due to the fact that he did not leave the factory oil in for the time specified. Once engine is broken in - I would highly recommend switch to Synthetic, ie Mobil 1, redline or such.

I'd let it break in a bit - 3000 to 5000 miles to seat the rings a bit before switching.

Faq oil change interval says that there are additives factory oil per some lubrication engineer at<br>VW/Audi.... who knows for sure? To be on the safe side with rings, I would leave it in. If for nothing else to avoid any "headaches" if there is a problem. Having said that , I know all Porsches come direct from the factory with Mobil 1... maybe they run the engines longer on the dyno than VW/ Audi???...???
