It will be a 99.5 (which you hopefully already know),but more importantly, it will be a NEW silver. Audi has quietly replaced Aluminum Silver - used on all Audis since Aug. of '94 - which has a very light blue tint to it, with Light Silver. They haven't sent out an actual "chip" yet, but I anticipate that it'll be brighter like VW, M-B, BMW's silver. Personally, I like the change alot; the bluish Alum. has always annoyed me. IMHO
I get compliments on how bright it is all the time (and I've only had the car a month). The BMW and M-B silvers are DULL, DULL, DULL. No life to them. My parents looked at BMW and MB and hated the Silver, actually, they hated all of their colours, no life to them, or too faddy (I know, it is not a word, so sue me...).
Anyway, it is just my opinion, and I definitely am biased, but also glad that I have the Aluminum Silver, that ALONE, is worth getting the 99 over the 99.5 (I live in the Desert where you would be nuts to have a dark car due to heat AND dust)
Kirk
I thought of you when I was on the 520 bridge last Friday. Someone was going Eastbound in a Silver 2.8 Sport. I was headed West in a heap of cars traveling at 5 MPH! :-( You weren't in Seattle were you?
Charles
The order code for "Light Silver" A4 color is THE SAME as the order code for "Lake Silver" TT color.
Could it be two different Germans interpreting the same color name into English differently?

Does anyone know if Audi's new "Light Silver" is similar to the 1999 BMW 3-series "Titanium Silver?
If so, the 1999 BMW 3-series (sedan)brochure has numerous excellent photos of titanium silver colored cars which may help us "guess-timate" how well the light silver will suit the 1999.5 A4.
Thanks.
I blew into town on Saturday for a little night out at Axis and the 2218, and then the Seahawks game on Sunday. I will be coming back into town on the 23rd or 24th for who knows how long...I am taking the 23rd through the 5th of January off ( I LOVE private practice...:)
Anyway, I have a great story, on my way back home, I REALLY had to go (you know) and I couldn't make it to my usual rest stop, so I stopped off at Grandview (whoa dinksville, but cute), anyway, they have this brand new CONOCO with a touchless carwash for only 4 bones. What a great find for my little after Mountain Pass winter driving and no time to wash the car for a week lifestyle. It even removed the brake dust. Anyway, I am so thankful that my bladder was so unforgiving (heated seats are a disadvantage here btw...kind of like running water).
Kirk
gotta go, gotta go, gotta go...
