so the 99.5 A4 will arrive in showrooms about what month? March?<br>and the A6 manual will get here when? The only thing that is stopping me from purchasing an A6 is the lack of Power. They are slow pigs. How can they (Audi) expect good sales when their entry level vehicle (A4 1.8t in the U.S) outperforms their middle class vehicle (A6)? Not to mention that the A4 is $12,000 cheaper. Audi needs to get their heads out of their A$$e$ and give the A6 some real power. That's the only way it can compete with the 5 series and the E class Mercedes. But both the 528 & A6 have (1) more room than their smaller counterparts, and (2) are far more luxurious (wood, suspension, novelty electronics, etc.) than the 323 or A4 1.8T.<p>Now, I definitely would like to see Audi's answer to the 540 and the M5...like an A6 3.7 or A6 4.2 and an S6...!<p>steve<p><br>

But they both out perform the A6. Come to think of it, The BMW 328i outperforms every Audi available in America. Only the A8 manages to beat the Bimmer in top speed and that's it. The 328 would smoke the A8 in every other performance category. That really doesn't mean anything (A8 is luxury based). But what that does tell me is that Audis are a slower than the cars that they compete with. If Audi is supposed to compete with BMW they need to put more horses in their engines. Every comparable BMW is Quicker/faster than the Competing Audi. I'm not implying that BMWs are superior because of their performance. A Camaro Z28 will beat every Bimmer (Z3 coupe included). Is The Z28 is a better car? No. I'm starting not to make sense, let me go :-) <br> <p><br>

Camaro SS, sure. But the 540i and M3 and M Coupe and M Roadster will all smoke a Z28 up to about 110MPH.
