I've only know of SC&T Ultimate Per4mer Force Feedback. The reviewer said that the unit is above average, but that the Force Feedback qualitied varied from game to game. It's more what the programmers do with it than how the wheel performs. What are your suggestions?

Microsoft's Force Feedback wheel. I'm looking for a wheel too, but can't justify buying one because I use Playstation for all my racing games, perhaps that's a mistake though!
My brother just got one (non-FFB ~ $75)... Pretty neat little thing. You may want to look at their FFB model (~$160?). My co-worker just got one from Best Buy or Circuit City.... I have yet to try that one out though, but he likes it.

the pedals that come with it absolutely SUCK. Very little range of motion, translated "very difficult to modulate". For some games this may not be much of a problem, but for GPL, it is almost impossible to drive well.
One solution would be to buy a separate set of pedals. CH are well-made, but the problem there is that your game must support more than 4 axes, plus you have to have some sort of joystick plugged into the pedals, as there is no separate driver per se for the pedals. I am going through this mess right now, as my Thrustmaster wheel/pedal (non-FF) combo final gave out.
I've read reviews that the MS FF wheel can be notchy, as it uses gears between the FF motor and the wheel, while Logitech uses cable and pulleys.
Alison Hine's site has quite lengthy discussion about FF wheel, mostly relating to GPL, but it might be worth looking at before buying.

you can plug in modules to play with the same setup on the Playstation, N64, etc...
And it's a good thing too, because the ACT FF setup costs around US$130. The modules are like US$20 each...
