1) What long-term impressions of the Ecru/Onyx ADVANCE leatherette interior (1.8T aluminum trim)
do others have, especially with a silver exterior?
2) How does it compare with the Opal Grey Ambition leatherette interior (1.8T aluminum trim), again with a silver exterior?
Thanks.

Well, I have Santorin with Ecru (blue dash) and love it more with every day. Esp. the blue dash :-) Along with the sunroof, the bright color of the interior makes the car feel roomier than it really is.
My friend with his Europa w/ Ecru loves his car after 3 years as well and says that he would not want a different color for the interior.
Neither of us had any issues with making the seats dirty or so, after 35k and 11k miles, respectively. So far not, that is...
My $.02...
- Stan
Also, why is the aluminum silver being replaced with light silver?
How do the two colors compare?
Thanks.

As it has already been said: the exterior and interior colors are primarily a question of individual taste. Remember that designers with much experience and expertise carefully consider the exterior and interior color combinations so there is really no "right" or "wrong" choice beyond your own personal tastes.
Personally, I was hesitant to consider the Onyx interior as the common attitude in warmer climates is that black is too hot. It is also a "severe" color (or non-color if you want to get technical!) from a design point of view, witness the scores of "serious" teens that dress in black to express their emotional depth. However, after several trips to various dealers (in an attempt to see as many exterior/interior combinations as possible), I was inevitably drawn to the Onyx interior despite the prejudices I harbored. It evoked an undeniable emotional reaction that none of the other interiors produced. A kind of internal "wow!" response. So, voila, I ordered the black leatherette interior!
Moral: trust your instincts.
I hope this helps.

I won't claim that it's the best, but I do like the ecru/blue with the exterior silver. However, I'd probably go with the ecru/onyx now that that is available with silver. Blue is nice, but the black is more classic.
Tom

"The deal" is, I have been selling Audis for a LONG time, and I've seen all of the possible combinations. Color selection is the MOST SUBJECTIVE of things; that's why they make black and white. But if someone solicits an OPINION about a combination, I don't think it's unreasonable to express what I've seen in person, which they may not have seen but on a chip in the catalog.
OK?
