This would be VERY interesting if it's true and would certainly lead to positive rumours of Porsche in LMP1 in 2010. Linked to the 3rd Audi R15 are Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard, requested possibily by Porsche !!!

This could certainly make one heck of a battle between the Audis. As I've mentioned previously and what you will find mentioned by others in various forums - this year's 24hr is about to the best one yet.

If Porsche does in fact go to LMP1 in 2010, it would be another fantastic opportunity for Allan (having driven for Porsche and won LM with the Porsche 911 GT1 in '98). All that remains is for Ferrari to not put all their money in one basket (F1) and reconsider sports car racing with a LMP1 in 2010. I heard a rumour that has been discussed in conjunction with the FXX program. Ferrari-Porsche wars once again. If Ferrari did come back, perhaps they could lure Allan back to the red side of things...unfinished business since the 333 SP.

Exciting times ahead.

Porsche said in a statement, it owned 42.6 percent of Volkswagen voting stock and held a further 31.5 percent in cash-settled options on VW ordinaries -- giving it indirect control of 74.1 percent.

'The goal is to raise this to 75 percent in 2009, so long as the economic conditions permit, and pave the way for a domination agreement.

Porsche would need to own 80 percent of VW to have total decision-making control, but it is currently fighting the 20 percent law with the backing of the European Commission.

So what would this mean . . . it certainly seems that if Porsche wants to put their factory drivers in an Audi R15, they have the ability to do just that!!!

That Porsche is not entering a factory team in the 24 hours of LeMans this year with their LMP2 Spyder. They have said in a recent Porsche Panorama and Excellence that their drivers can enter the LeMans race for another factory.

I for one am just glad that it is for Audi and not Peugot.

Just my two cents.

running an RS Spyder but since it's a joint venture with another entity..the drivers were already in place. Let us know forget the Porsche-VW-Audi connection and the factory Porsche drivers in an Audi ! ! ! I really couldn't see Porsche putting their drivers in something other than a Audi LMP1, RS Spyder LMP2 or Porsche GT2 car.
