Avant will be wife's daily driver (yes, she does need the K04 and 380cc injectors).

E36 will be my dd and track slut.

Awaiting price as it's a guy from the office selling.

'99 with 52 k miles. Purple with grey interior - not my 1st choice, or 2nd, or 3rd for that matter ;) but if the price is right. I was hoping to gain some insight into what to look for with the E36.

Thanks,

Peter

Not that I'm in love with it either.

The miles are pretty low so that list is pretty good in the link. I just went through used M3 hell and was basically ripped off by a BMW enthusiast but it was my fault for not being more careful(there was no end to the PO's lack of attention to detail). If I did it again I would buy a totally stock one and do all the mods myself instead of having to change them. You should be able to get it on track with a nice suspension and tires/wheels for $3k more. However, the more involved track mods that you really may want to do are the oil pan baffle and oil pump nut loctite.

Most importantly, have a very good independent give it a good inspection.

I'll be tapped out for a while and will probably not spend anything significant as far as upgrades go for a while.

Oil pan baffle and locktite will be 1st.

Will bring it to Euromeccanica near me for a once-over before buying.
