Those pesky RS Porsche Spyders that stole Audi thunder last year just could not keep up this year. #1 and #2 overall for Audi R-10s...great race!

Seems when Champion is doing the pit work...they win???

today would actually be fun!

Notice how others didn't post the result in the subject line of the respective races they wrote about?

Best to include "spoiler", as most due, too.

Not speaking for myself, as I knew the result, just speaking
of Internet etiquette.

Dramatic race. Luhr was sure getting pissed at Fields for deliberately holding him up going down the pit-lane. Justice was served later when Fields spun and couldn't find reverse.

I can appreciate the excitement though. I'm so hoarse from cheering I can hardly talk.

e-mail my husband.......sure miss Speed reporting....ABC does suck when it comes to reporting. Can't hardly wait for LeMans

I was happy enough that Marco forged his way past, but ecstatic that they pulled off the 1-2 punch. Maybe the IMSA adjustments will work out after all. Fields should have been penalized. His dad Ted was an ass like that too, but he couldn't drive for beans.

Now I have limited interest in watching the race. I'm sure the series sponsors will enjoy that I'm not getting bombarded with ads for the Porsche telemetry and Acura prerace show because I will be watching the race from Motors TV in Europe thanks to IMSA / ALMS wanting to get "Major Network" coverage....

...during the NBA playoffs when they'd even cut in to the Pope's visit to show an NBA playoff game.

Yes, I'm INCREDIBLY pissed.

exciting Oprah reruns. Don't blame the ALMS, blame the ABC affiliates.

ALMS / IMSA wants as much "network" coverage as possible because they still believe 90% of America lives in the 50's with only Antennas and little 13" black and white TVs, so this "cable" thing is only for the rich...

I wouldn't have wanted him to lose face in front of his gf anyway. There were a bunch of other guys close by that were all wearing various Audi hats and t-shirts, and we just looked at each other and rolled our eyes.
I swear, I still can't get over how quiet that thing is. I think my 4.2 makes more induction noise.

They did announce yesterday that ALMS has signed up for five more years at LB...I remember the first race there....was out for my brothers wedding in Palos Verdes....and he several of the promoters at his wedding...they had a hard time because of the race..so some of them had to skip the reception. Long Beach has come along way since then....think the old Pike days stuck in memories anyone our age...ha

downhill drop off of Linden. I was still actively driving in SCCA then and we lobbied heavily to have a few of the classes included. It was great, and the outcry when they dumped F1 in favor of Champ Car was as loud as the fuss now over the IRL-Champ Car changeover.

I was sitting along side the front straight, so I could see the cars coming out of the hairpin and along down the straight.

Man those R10s have some serious power. I can't believe that the #1 car finished 2nd; he was hanging back in 7th, 6th place for quite a while.

Tsk tsk. I found it ironic tht I had been to Penske Audi for the Stars & Cars event, and the Captain is running the Porsche team. Brabham put up a helluva drive, for sure.

broke tradition with what I believe the first ever victory donuts after winning an F1 race.

Maybe the reason they didn't do so well at the race was because Roger was stuck in Japan....

Wow...just checked this thread since I posted. I feel bad...it did not even occur to me that I was spoiling the fun for others who would be watching. Typical noob move. On the other hand I suppose I did provide some service to those who were led to believe they could see ALMS coverage on ABC on Sunday afternoon. In the future I promise not to spoil suspense in my post headlines. Sorry everyone.

did I get a new one ripped, and rightly so. Sometimes when our favorite wins, we get caught up in the moment. My example was of Kimi (of all people!) ripping the first donut's I've ever seen an F1 winner perform after a race late last year. Live and learn.

Even without a spoiler, you can guess the outcome based on the tone of the posts. So if you don't want to know the results of a race, don't go to a MOTORSPORTS forum until you've watched it.
