View Full Version : If you could put any american driver in F1, who'd it be? bioman 08-10-2007, 09:37 AM Colin Braun? Graham Rahal? Marco Andretti? Chip Herr? :) SAC-CA-GTI 08-10-2007, 09:43 AM PAT-SO-CAL!!!! J/K....uh, I'd really like to see Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart give it a shot. I hate Nascar tho. snoogins 08-10-2007, 10:05 AM He was Alain Prost's team mate for a while at Renault. That has to have been cool. Plus, I've had beers with him. He's a nice guy without a hint of ego. Oh wait, you mean CURRENT driver...Marco. snoogins 08-10-2007, 10:06 AM bioman 08-10-2007, 10:35 AM fossils by F1 standards incidently, this is also my problem. The F1 teams are all passing on my resume due to my age, those FFs. pattycakes® iCode 08-10-2007, 10:57 AM Followed by Colin Braun, Graham Rahal. jbchinoca 08-10-2007, 12:04 PM Rally_nutcase_1982 08-10-2007, 12:05 PM jbchinoca 08-10-2007, 12:08 PM neder their belt, which pretty much wipes out the entire list. sohjah 08-10-2007, 12:10 PM Marco needs to prove himself a bit more in IRL before being given any consideration IMO. D all over 08-10-2007, 12:59 PM any serious attention. IRL and Champ Car are not held in extremely high regard by the F1 paddock jbchinoca 08-10-2007, 02:55 PM pattycakes® iCode 08-10-2007, 07:10 PM I win in GP4 and GPL so I should be okay..right? hahahahaha*cough*hack*ha snoogins 08-10-2007, 09:30 PM He's gonna be doing GP2 in the next year or so, but unless he totally dominate the series, and that's HIGHLY unlikely, he'll need to bring a metric ton of money with him. Rakete 08-11-2007, 03:26 AM the younger ones who haven't won a championship yet, Rahal did fairly well with the World series. Andretti probably has what it takes but needs more time in the seat. jbchinoca 08-11-2007, 05:56 AM Or when Mansell tried to come back with McL? QuattroJay 08-12-2007, 09:47 AM jbchinoca 08-12-2007, 10:02 AM Potomac-Greg 08-13-2007, 10:36 AM Rakete 08-13-2007, 12:43 PM too old for F1. leslie 08-14-2007, 06:30 PM (not to mention he fit in the car when he did the swap w/ JPM a few years ago...). Coulthard is 6', 165lbs. Scott Speed is 5'11, 160 Kubica is 6'1, 160 Ralf is 5"10, 160 Jenson 6'0, 163 Rubens 5'8, 174 Webber 6'1, 163 Wurz, 6'1, 163 And while I'm not sure I believe the published figures for Tony Stewart, he is listed as 5'9, 170... So if accurate, wouldn't be a total stretch. But I definitely don't think he'd be desirable, given his pudginess... I'd vote Andretti. He's got the sponsors, and the look, not to mention the name. jbchinoca 08-14-2007, 06:36 PM Mike/A.W.E. 08-24-2007, 07:19 AM The set-up master. |
