Does anyone elses remote range change drastically from location to location? For instance, in the concrete parking garage at work, my range is about 100ft. all the time. However in the parking lot at the gym, I literally have to hold the remote up to the rear bumper before it works. Other locations seem to show similar behavior. I know...grocery store, 10ft....parents house, 50ft...apartment, 5ft....These distances are consistent.
Is the remote affected that much by interference? What would cause this?

Since the remotes are RF or radio controlled, they will be susceptible to the environmenet. I've never bothered to figure out what frequency they use, but I suspect it is UHF and rather low power, obviously. Thus they are influenced by the
surroundings, by weather and by obstructions.
Clair 98.5 2.8 30V FWD (with barely acceptable remote operation)

and those environmental influences mostly affect longwave and VHF!!! ;-). I do know that my beard keeps the supposed trick of putting it against your chin for better range from working, but
that is probably more of an electrical insulation affect
