I got this email on the NASA pro racing email list...about a trailer for sale. After reading about it...found out it is a friend of mine selling it. The guy I bought my engine from in my Spec Miata. Anyone, anyone have experiences with this Kwikload type?

i soooo need to upgrade to an electric tonque jack!
that trailer looks pretty sweet....will the tilt help you that much? it seems like spec miatas dont really have problems getting on to trailers...
of course it all boils down to what you want, not always what you need ;-)

Do a cost-benefit analysis. OK...your current trailer might take 2 more minutes to load. How many times do you actually load and unload each year ? How much is your time worth ? Couldn't you better spend it on tires, race entry fees and new bowling balls for the kids ?

around for a trailer. I'll need one when I get my Triumph done to tow around to shows...and maybe the S too! Just don't know what I can afford.

...unless, of course, you encounter one of your buddies all loaded up on the highway. Then trailering = racing.

To get the Kwikload to tilt, you don't just drive the car off the back. You actually have to park it (with an extra 10+ feet behind it for clearance), get out and pull a locking pin buried under the tire fender, get back in the truck and manually hold the trailer brake (which you don't have) while moving the truck slowly in reverse so you don't slam the tail on the ground.
It's that, versus pulling two ramps off the back of your current trailer, which really isn't that bad at all.

If there is a chase car behind me, they need to have waving yellows.

trailer brakes are required on any trailer which weighs over 1500lbs in CA.

...let's get this right - Steve has a brake controller, but it's sitting on a shelf somewhere. Am I correct ?
Wouldn't want to actually install it, somebody might spill coffee on it or something. Keeping it clean means that you can be buried with it clutched in your fingers...if your upper limbs are still attached after the horrific crash.
