This morning when I started my car, I noticed the display on my car radio having weird dot spots as well as a few lines. Could it be from the cold weather? I tried changing radio stations, turning on and off the radio but the weird display still remains. Anyone have a clue as to what may be the cause of the problem? Thanks for your inputs.
Chris K
98.5 1.8TQAS TAP STAGE II

other people have had this problem (check posts about 2 weeks ago?)
I had it as well. It seems cold weather related. After the car warmed up, i turned on and off the vehicle, and it went away. Prior to that I tried everything to no avail.
No one seems to have this problem on the Delta units.

1996 a4 2.8 qm (with concert)
I posted about this a couple of weeks back....Randall is right....turn the car off and on and it's gone. Seems to be cold related...however...it's pretty cold today in Toronto and it didn't happen..about -5 celcius...whereas it was about +1 celcius when it happened.
-Ash
98.5 Silver 1.8TQMS with Funky BOSE display (only once so far)

When I shut the car off and restarted it again later, the problem was gone. Since it is garage kept, and the weather at the time was mild, I don't think it is temp related. I attributed it to an internal computer glich, like once in a blue moon when your PC doesn't boot up properly. If the problem does not increase in frequency, I would not worry about it too much.
I really don't think it's cold related, though. Yup, I think it's actually shutting down the engine and restarting it that cures it. Like I said, it's only happened once(but I did mention it to my dealer!).
JT 99' 1.8Tqms
