tonight on my way back from a wonderfull night of shopping while travelling on hwy401 this huge ice ball looking thing was punted by the van in front of me. to my dissapointment(fff$#@%^$%#) it hit and exploded my drivers side mirror, leaving only the motor and the shattered mirror dangling by its wires. after stoping and taking a closer look it must have been somethng harder than ice; it gouged part of the door as well. ANYWAYS enough crying. I'm leaving for holidays on tuesday and i need one FAST!!!!. has any one ever replaced this before ?? how much $$$$??
keith -- depressed and mirror less in toronto....

i wouldn't claim under insurance if i could fix for less than $500, regardless of what the deductable is.
They will "adjust" your rate to reflect this, as there is no one else to blame..
I claimed windscreen, insurance changed, never claimed anything else in 15 years of being with the same company.
1996 a4 2.8 qm
ps CITADEL insurance is not the greatest.
My deductible is $500 Canadian, and I figure anything under $1000 for which I am responsible (such as damaging a mirror) I'd be better off to pay the difference out of my own pocket and have no responsible claims which will reflect in future premiums.
Gus
