I spoke with Bob from Stable Energies last night (he fabricated the harness bar for my Avant) who told me he's developed one for the sedan. It bolts in perminantly at the rear outboard seatbelt reel mounting bolts in the trunk.

Stable Energies

As a bonus, it also doubles for a harness bar!!

and they didn't have an application so I took tons of pictures that I sent to them, we went back and forth for a while then the communication died out and I lost interest since the tail straps on my harnesses weren't the right kind anyhow and I'd need to get new ones etc.
Nice to see they got around to doing it...now I'm interested in how they pulled it off though because we both came to the conclusion that the sheetmetal mounts for clips for the rear seat backs weren't up to the job w/o putting some kind of reinforcement plates behind the sheet metal...anyone got a pic of what they finally did?

The seat belt real mount is designed for that kind of force.

now the problem is my harnesses aren't wrap around type :-( Have you run into many tech inspections where they required that you have 3" harness belts? Cuz if 2" is ok then I might just grab a set of Scroth Rallye Cross and that harness bar and call it a day. I guess I can sell my existing Rallye 4's to someone else :-/
Yes it mounts as you describe...but kinda far back so you need to know for sure that the tail straps will make it all the way back there.
The one problem I see with making the belts that long is belt stretch...the longer the belt is the more elongation you're going to get right? Is there a safe working limit...I guess there's no need to worry since looking at the Champion S4's the belts are equally as long if not longer.

You don't want to be harnessed down without a rollbar/cage. Same thing goes for rigid backed seats. If the roof comes down, you can't go anywhere.
Necks don't make for good rollbars.

i only use only the 4"lap belt because the shoulder harness bothers me(autox) and a tear off torso strap to keep me in place - come to think of it nothing really is keeping me from laying to the passenger side if the unfortunate happens. i'll definitely look into major safety add-ons sometime this year. thanks

i dont think they inspect expiry dates (QC,NASA-NE,EMRA). not sure about PCA which i'm sure has 'stricter' requirements
