View Full Version : Bad news for BMW in ALMS. geoff 12-10-2001, 08:19 AM

cheaters :-P

gtt 12-10-2001, 09:49 AM leslie 12-10-2001, 10:31 AM It was describing the GTRs that they were making were going to be $200+K, and ONLY have ~350hp. You gotta be kidding me, and that's obviously not the same engine, so back to the drawing board for BMW, haha. Puhleeze. Is there a distinction between making and *selling* them? I can't see paying that much for that little hp... geoff 12-10-2001, 12:04 PM I thought I remembered them saying it was basically the same engine but with differences mainly in intake/exhaust....not sure though. But the bottom line is the whole concept of this series is to race production based cars. The key word here being PRODUCTION. They never should have allowed BMW to run that engine last season before they offered it to the public. I also read a couple months ago that Porsche was considering pulling out of ALMS if the GTR's were allowed to run again next season.....which I think would be very justified. Still no ALMS at PDX next season though :( |
