When I go to the Team Houston website, I punch in the dealer # and I start to try to match up the #'s with my VIN #, and I cannot find it!! It's not there! I have been just told that it is on the boat. When does the VIN # show up? When it gets in to port? Any answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I am having the same problem. My car is on the same boat! Hope they are having a great time!
Seriously, I just got off the phone with my dealer and the boat left yesterday. According to the web site it will pull into port on the 23rd. My dealer is adding another week to that(don't know why, I live in Houston!). What did you get?
Eric
99 2.8TQS

I have seen on the Team Houston site that the boat is scheduled to arrive on the 23rd of this month.
You are saying that you cannot find a VIN # as well? They told me it would be as early as 5 days from port-to-dealer, or as late as 10 days. This is due to "unloading" the boat an the "americanization" process. I hope that our cars are actually on the water and will be here soon! BTW, how long is the boat ride anway?
Keep me posted, I will do the same--call me Joey

The VIN will appear in the database after the car has been unloaded from the boat. The "Alloc. Date" indicates this. In my case the alloc. date was 12/8 , one day after the boat arrived.
There should also be an "est. complete date" , which for me was 12/15, one week after the allocation date.
When you check back on or after the complete date (assuming no delays) you should see a date in the "release date" column, which indicates when the car was given over to drayage (truck or train). For my car this was 12/15.
Finally you'll see a "ship date" , which indicates when the truck/train took off. On the teamhouston site there's a section called "delivery times" which shows the typical time it takes for the car to reach your dealer from the port. My ship date is 12/16/98, and for my area (southeastern U.S.) it is supposed to take up to 4 days for the truck to reach here.

h.t.h.
-K.
My dealer checked and the boat did leave yesterday, but there was a chemical spill down at the port and they are not sure what affect this will have on the delivery of cars. I was wondering the same about the time of the boat ride. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Eric
99 2.8AQS
