a couple of tins of Ate blue before reading that thread. What's the consensus about Ate now: a good choice or a clutch killer? Should I get rid of the stuff or use it?

Thanks

I don't recall hearin any problems until about a year ago, and I don't know what Audi may have done in the system design that made the clutches susceptible to this. I put Super Blue in last summer, and the clutch started squeaking about 3 weeks later, so out it came.

The clutch did squeak, but that was due to the plastic pivot inside the car-easily fixed with WD-40.

But right now it is a mix of Super Blue and Gold 200, which is the same stuff, w/o the blue color.

I flushed the brake system with SuperBlue and started getting this whoop sound when moving the pedal. A couple folks from NorCal heard this at a track event and asked if I had ATE fluid. They said to get it out immediately.

Apparently three differnt folks installed the SuperBlue in an A4, got that whoop sound and then had slave cylinders failures within a year. I switched to Motul 600 the next week and the sound went away. 10K miles later everything is still fine.

Good luck,
Rich
