I just installed a Greddy turbo timer(actually had it installed at a performance shop). The only problem is that now I can not use my factory alarm to lock the car when my turbo timer is keeping the engine running. I can still unlock the car with the alarm but not able to lock. Has anyone ever experienced this, and if so how did you guys go about fixing it? The guys at the shop don't know of a way to bypass the factory alarm. Heard with aftermarket alarms, bypassing them is not a problem, but I do not want to change my factory alarm. Any advice and info would be really appreciated!
Chris K
98.5 1.8TQAS

Simple... just uninstall your turbo timer !
According to my dealer, here in Switzerland, it absolutely not required ,even if you push hard.
I believe him. As an S4 do not have turbos timer,
I guess other engines do not need it too.
Just my 2 cents.
Greetings Laurent

Audi frowns heavily on leaving the car running unattended, for good reason. Sorry, but I see no better solution.

From all the posts listed on this site, it doesn't seem like bypassing the factory can be done without replacing the alarm or adding an aftermarket alarm. I think you can still lock your doors with the key, but the alarm will not be armed.
Howard Kim
98 A4 1.8tms(neu)
